For 20 years, Back to Life have been working to improve the living conditions of the needy and most disadvantaged in Nepal and India. Schaeffler’s donation will go directly to the building of a school for a total of 225 pupils in Gamtha, Nepal. The donation check was presented to Stella Deetjen of Back to Life by Rouven Daniel, Director Marketing and Communications at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket.
“The extraordinary commitment and tireless effort by Stella Deetjen and her team for a more humane world really impressed us,” said Mr. Daniel. “And that’s why we decided to donate to Back to Life this year. In the coming years, we will again support small, individual organizations, instead of sending Christmas presents to our customers.”
Ms. Deetjen added: “On behalf of all the children in Gamtha, I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this generous donation. It is the basis for the new school building that we are constructing in the Mugu Mountains. Through the better learning conditions that we are making possible here, the children will have completely new chances at self-determination when it comes to the career they pursue. Thank you Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket for making this possible.”
Back to Life projects are initiated and managed by founder Stella Deetjen with the goal of, “helping people help themselves.” The organization’s activities include building and rebuilding schools, children’s home and birthplaces; and providing immediate, emergency medical and social aid after earthquakes. The goal of the charity is self-determination – to offer the population here a way out of poverty so they can eventually provide for themselves. Back to Life is currently helping up to 45,000 of the neediest with its charity projects.
